In September 2015, NeuroDevNet hosts the 6th annual Brain Development Conference in Ottawa. This cutting-edge conference brings together experts and attendees from a cross section of disciplines— scientists, policy-makers, social workers, students, caregivers— all focused on improving the lives of children with neurodevelopmental disorders, and their families.
We needed to develop Conference branding and a website solution that would handle registration, accommodation, sponsorship, and also allows for continual updates by the client. We did so, delivering a site that does everything the client asked for.
By listening closely to the client, and choosing the latest web development tools, we were able to deliver the web solution at HALF the cost they were originally quoted by another firm.

Glance is the official magazine of the Vancouver Artgallery (VAG), the largest and most prestigious art gallery in western Canada.
bay6 creative was instrumental in creating the template of Glance magazine, injecting it with vibrancy and life. In addition to the multiple issues of Glance designed and produced by bay6 creative, we have created a VAG Annual Report and all the promotional materials for two blockbuster Exhibitions— Carr, O'Keefe, Kahlo: Places of Their Own, and Canvas of War: Masterpieces from the Canadian War Museum.
It is especially rewarding, as creative artists, to work with an organization that is recognized world-wide for its leading role in the visual arts.
Developing a campaign to grab the attention of University students began with a vintage photo of girls jumping hurdles. By converting the girls' image to half-tone screen (big ol' dots), we gave the poster a modern retro twist. The campaign included brochures that promoted the "brainpower" of students to potential employers. Recognition and enrollment in the Mitacs Internships Program got a big boost.
THE VANCOUVER SYMPHONY ORCHESTRAL INSTITUTE AT WHISTLER offers young musicians an experience and education like no other, joining together the GRAMMY® and JUNO Award-winning VSO with Whistler, one of the world’s finest mountain resorts. Students are immersed in a collaborative musical environment, mentored by a world class symphony orchestra teaching staff. Students enjoy unique musical performance opportunities as well as the energizing lifestyle of beautiful British Columbia, Canada.
bay6 creative designed the branding and website for this exciting new offering. The first summer music camp (2015) was a resounding success with enrollment double what the VSO had anticipated.

Strong, bold, but friendly
They wanted a branding that would reflect their values of being urban-oriented and energetic, but approachable. A crucial element of the logo is a stylized wave icon, generating energy and movement, showing transformation and the strength of joining together as an unstoppable force. They continue to make huge, positive impacts in the lives of people, helping them physically, emotionally and spiritually.
We have been the design team for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) for more than 20 years! Such a long term relationship is only possible if we listen closely to our client and deliver stellar results, year after year.
Each new season, we help them showcase online and in print the dozens of concerts they perform, reaching a vast and diverse audience. We designed their fully featured website, which covers all aspects of seasonal concerts, ticket purchasing, and provides a huge marketing presence, including an online version of their Season Brochure.
Visit http://www.vancouversymphony.ca to explore all they offer.
VSO (Vancouver Symphony Orchestra) wanted to brand a fresh new concert experience that would bloom every spring. For an icon, we illustrated a violin with a budding branch, symbolizing new growth, and added a lively colour scheme. The new concert series heralds the arrival of spring for the VSO.
Mitacs needed branding for a Conference in Calgary. When the words "branding" and "Calgary" come together, you think of "cowboy" and "rodeo". Inspired by vintage photos and line drawings of rodeo bronco riding, we concocted a theme to combine the mathematical and energy focus of the Calgary Conference.
Using the vintage rodeo imagery, we recreated the bucking bronco using mathematical symbols and numbers. This unique graphic was used in the poster, and on T-shirts, which were a coveted souvenir from the highly successful conference.
Exuberance. This Annual Report captures the positive energy that kids show, even when dealing with serious health issues.
NeuroDevNet is a national cross-disciplinary network dedicated to bringing hope to children with neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as their families and caregivers.
We have had the privilege to design several of their Annual Reports, which gives us more insight to tell the story of their accomplishments.
